Professor Witi Ihimaera-Smiler

Author and Professor of English
Witi Ihimaera is a prolific respected author who is well known for his book, 'Whale Rider' which was adapted into a movie. He has written 13 novels and 11 short stories. In 2004 he was made a Distinguished Companion in the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to Literature. He is currently a Professor of English at Auckland University.
